STORMWITCH: Future Uncertain

January 11, 2005

Andy Mück, vocalist and founding member of the classic German power metallers STORMWITCH, appears to be the sole remaining member of the group after the rest of STORMWITCH's most recent lineup — guitar players Fabian Schwarz (ex-TYRAN PACE) and Martin Winkler (ex-NIGHTWOLF),bass player Dominik Schwarz, keyboardist Alexander Schmidt (ex-TYRAN PACE) and drummer Marc Oppold (ex-TYRANT) — announced their decision to part ways with the singer. According to a posting on STORMWITCH's official web site, the split was due primarily to the unwillingness of Mück and his management to involve the rest of the band in the decision-making process with respect to the group's business affairs. After repeated unsuccessful attempts to rectify the problem, the musicians claim that they were left with no choice but to leave the band.

STORMWITCH, who count HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak as one of their biggest fans (HAMMERFALL used to play a cover version of the STORMWITCH track "Ravenlord"),released their ninth album, "Witchcraft", last November through Nuclear Blast Records.
